Anglian Water – our work in your area

We plan to start work in September and expect to be finished in Summer 2024. We started 1.5km of archaeological digs along the route in June to make sure we didn’t disturb anything important when we install the new pipe. These digs are planned to be finished by November 2023.

While we aim to reduce disruption to pedestrians and traffic as much as we can, our top priority will always be the safety of our staff and the public. This means we’ll need the following traffic management in place:

  • Two way traffic lights will be on the School Road, Great Wratting from 04 – 09 September 2023
  • Church Lane, Barnardiston will be closed from 18 – 23 September 2023
  • Chimney Street, Hundon will be closed from 25 – 30 September 2023
  • Folley Road, Hundon will be closed from 02 – 07 October 2023
  • Hall Road/ Upper North Street, Hundon will be closed from 09 -14 October 2023
  • Folley Road speed reduction to 30mph 29 August 2023 – 21 June 2024.
  • A speed reduction to 30mph will be on the A143 starting in November.

Because of the nature of our work, these dates may change depending on our progress.

We want to keep you updated on our work, so we’ve set up a webpage Bury St Edmunds to Haverhill pipeline (anglianwater.co.uk) where you can find more information about this project read updates on our progress and view diversion route maps.

Communications have been sent to local residents regarding this work. If you have any questions or would like to meet to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Kind Regards,
